Props to Ryan O'Keefe

Barbara Derbyshire of Nanaimo just called in with large praise for Ryan O’Keefe and the work he completed for her. It was his second visit to her house, and both experiences were the best she’s had with a tradesman in her home. Yay Ryan!!!!

The Nanaimo Fire Fighters Local 905 Summer Heat black tie affair was put on to raise funds for the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund. Attendants were treated to a black tie affair, complete with fine dining, a live auction, fashion show and dance. Many local businesses donated items to be auctioned off to raise funds for this important cause. Torry and Sons was proud to be a part of this night, donating a Sony Flat Screen TV raising $1200.00 alone on the TV. Approximately $30, 000 to $40,000 was raised in total. The event was a huge success. Thanks to the Fire Fighters Local 905 for having us be a part of this wonderful event.

Flushing Away Stereotypes

Andrea Durdle is flushing gender stereotypes down the drain. The 27 year-old has just become one of Vancouver Island’s first female journeyman plumbers. “Andrea’s only the second female plumber I know of, and I know hundreds of plumbers,” said Kevin Clark, manager of the Nanaimo branch of Torry and Sons Plumbing and Heating Ltd., Durdle’s employer. “We’re proud to help a woman break into a male-dominated trade.” For the complete story Click the link above!
